It’s been 13 years since I was studying Interactive Media in London, I had a coursework assignment to develop an interactive application (titled “Avatar” or “Catwalk”) from scratch – covering everything from UI/UX and User Journeys to the actual build.

It was built in Flash and featured with a “responsive” (adaptive design). It functioned both as a web application (Flash embedded in HTML) and as a standalone Desktop app. It’s a shame that technology disappeared – I suspect that, given time, it would have been optimised for GPUs, and everything would have run lightning-fast. Then again, we do have the HTML Canvas now.

I really went all out on that project: I created a ton of vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator, programmed button interactions and view transitions in ActionScript, and implemented an adaptive layout that could switch between two columns (for wider screens) and a single column (for narrower ones).

I still have all those vector assets sitting around, and I’ve been itching to find a usage for them.

I think I could become a decent fashion designer, since I like it, though, back when I was using MAYA, I created 3d car models, and they actually looked better than Musk’s Cybertruck! 😂

P.S. Just another non-profit, “for the fun of it” kind of idea – you know, just because it’s itching!
